Scope and contact
This policy describes data handling for UsefulShelf local tools, online AI services and support. Send privacy questions, correction or deletion requests to contact@usefulshelf.com. To protect data, we may need to verify your connection to the relevant records.
Local tools and AI inputs
Tools labeled for local processing handle inputs in your browser. AI generation requires a network connection: submitted prompts, selected settings and reference images are sent through our server to Agnes AI for generation. Do not submit passwords, identity documents or private material you lack permission to process. AI use does not keep data solely on your device.
Task records and result retention
To show progress, restore tasks and provide downloads, UsefulShelf stores task identifiers, status, result links, timestamps and hashed visitor and network identifiers. Video inputs are temporarily retained while queued and removed from the task record after submission to the generation provider. Image references are not written to our task storage. The generation provider may process and retain received content under its own policies.
Retention and downloads
AI task records have an approximately 24-hour validity window, which may extend during processing or on completion. After expiration, access through the site ends and records are removed during subsequent cleanup. This does not mean the generation provider or result host has deleted its copies. The site is not permanent artwork storage; download results promptly. Contact us for help deleting relevant records.
Essential storage and usage analytics
AI services use a short-lived cookie to identify tasks in the current browser, and local or session storage to keep task IDs for attempted recovery after refresh. This is not cross-device sign-in. Usage analytics measure page visits and tool interactions without sending tool input text, prompts or reference images. You can disable anonymous usage analytics in the footer. Essential task identification remains necessary to provide the service.
Local processing and storage
Most text, image and PDF processing runs in this browser without proactively uploading input files. Tasks, schedules, timer state, unit favorites, recent tools and preferences may use local storage. Clear this site browser data to remove local records. Local storage is still storage.
Queries using external services
Translation sends source text to MyMemory; exchange rates query currency codes through Frankfurter; weather queries a place or authorized coordinates through this site proxy; IP intelligence sends the queried address to IPQuery through the proxy. Provider rules also apply. OCR downloads recognition code and language resources and processes images in the browser.
Advertising and subscriptions
Ad scripts and slot requests are currently paused; only AdSense account verification and ads.txt remain. Email subscriptions are not currently available. This page and relevant controls will be updated before restoring ads or adding data collection.
Purchase email, payment and refund data
Purchases are not open, and the pricing preview does not collect purchase emails or payment information. When sales open, the plan is to verify identity through the purchase email and process order IDs, payment status, generation balances, expiration and necessary refund records for delivery and support. If checkout uses Paddle, payment information will be handled by Paddle under its privacy policy. Specific retention periods and processing details will be updated before purchases open.
Support emails and data requests
When you email support, we receive your email address, message and attachments to respond, verify orders or handle privacy requests. Provide only what is needed and do not include full card numbers, passwords or verification codes. Deletion requests may be limited by applicable transaction-retention obligations or dispute handling; we will explain where this applies.
